SUB's Light of Liberty Celebration, now in its 17th year, is a fundraiser with all proceeds going to Project Share, a charity that helps low-income Springfielders with utility bills. The event features fireworks, live music and a large kids area. Volunteers can assist with event set up and tear down, staffing at activity booths, ticket taking, and more.

To volunteer, contact Joan Kerfoot, Springfield Utility Board (SUB) Volunteer Coordinator, joank@subutil.com or phone 541-744-3611. If you "respond" to this opportunity, your response will be provided to SUB and you will receive a follow up message from Joan.

Shifts (listed below) run anywhere from 8am - 11pm and most shifts are 3.5 hours.

Set up: 8:00am – 11:30am
Midday shift: 11:30am – 3:00pm
Early event shift: 3:30pm – 6:30pm
Late event shit: 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Tear Down: 10:30pm until finished (usually around 12:30am)

Get Connected Icon Volunteering includes inherent risks, which include but are not limited to potential tripping hazards due to uneven ground, possible bug bites or stings, poison oak, and hanging tree limbs.
Get Connected Icon All efforts are taken to reduce hazards but the volunteer assumes these inherent risks when volunteering.
Get Connected Icon All volunteers will receive information prior to the event including parking, pass information, where to report once inside the park, and how to receive their free event t-shirt.
